Description

This Crockpot Chicken Alfredo Pasta Recipe is the ultimate comfort food made effortlessly in your slow cooker! Creamy Alfredo sauce, tender shredded chicken, and perfectly cooked pasta come together in one hearty, family-friendly meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened and cubed)
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 12 ounces penne pasta (or your favorite pasta)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rub the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the seasoned chicken, chicken broth, and olive oil into a 6-quart crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  3. Remove the cooked chicken from the crockpot, shred it with two forks, and return it to the crockpot.
  4. Add the heavy cream, cream cheese, and Parmesan cheese to the crockpot. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  5. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and add it to the crockpot, mixing well to coat in the Alfredo sauce.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • To avoid mushy pasta, add the cooked pasta to the crockpot just before serving.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and a smoother sauce.
  • Thin the Alfredo sauce if needed by adding a splash of chicken broth or milk.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a little extra milk or broth to maintain creaminess.
  • Customize by adding vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or broccoli during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
