  • Author: Lyne
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Description

This Chicken Tortellini Alfredo is the ultimate creamy, comforting dish! Tender chicken, cheese-filled tortellini, and a rich homemade Alfredo sauce come together in just 30 minutes. Perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions, this one-pan meal is family-friendly, customizable, and irresistibly delicious!

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 lb cheese tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley and extra Parmesan for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions (usually about 3–5 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, then sauté for 6–8 minutes, or until fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes, until fragrant. Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to low and let the cream simmer for about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the Cheese: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes thick and creamy. Taste and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
  5. Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, then gently fold in the tortellini. Toss everything together until the tortellini and chicken are evenly coated in the Alfredo sauce.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Make It Veggie: Skip the chicken and add sautéed mushrooms or spinach for a vegetarian twist.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of cream or milk to maintain the sauce’s creamy texture.
  • Customizations: Feel free to use shrimp, sausage, or tofu as a protein alternative. Add steamed broccoli or peas for extra nutrition.
